AW2025 Florals - Bibury Sprig and Mitford
Floral sprigs of charming seasonal English flora: from the spring tulip, to the summer poppy, autumnal blackberries and acorns. These are florals for all seasons, a celebration of nature’s bounty and joy. We visited William Morris’s Cotswold Manor, Kelmscott, here he had a bedspread hand embroidered in floral bouquets framed in interlocking trellises inspired by Mughal arts. So we went and explored the V and A’s Mughal 16th C paintings and admired their charming 18 th C floral prints.
We then came back to the studio and designed our own prints. We incorporated decorative cartouches and a modern stippled effect for a romantic, vintage feel in Bibury Sprig. The 3 colours ways are jam packed with colour in for maximum scheming:
Then we created a little sister for Bibury Sprig, Mitford, a smaller scale, simplified design where the flowers sing out set against a lime paint style background, the flowers flow in a stripes and rows accross rich cream, vintage blue and English Rose, ready for stripes, checks and their big sister.
