We have been chatting about a chintz for ages! The famous Indian floral with fantasy elements has long been a stalwart of English interiors and a sought-after print. Chintz is the ultimate world traveler: Elizabethan crewel work inspired Chinese porcelain and designs for Europe which then in turn inspired Indian silk embroidered bed hangings and print designs - Chintz was born.

We visited the V and A in London and thumbed through all our books on the history of print design. We then sat down and designed our own style of modern Chintz, from scratch. To reflect that this is indeed a 21st Century Chintz we called it ‘Chintz 21’. This is a print which has so many wonderful elements in its designs, the gourds, the carnation style florals, the bug, the butterflies… it’s a print that makes you daydream.
